With great pain and sorrow, Friends of Itamar would like to express our condolences to the Shevach family and the community of Chavat Gilad of Samaria in the tragic loss of Rabbi Raziel Shevach HYD who was ambushed and shot to death on the road right outside his home last night by bloodthirsty terrorists. Rabbi Raziel left a wife and six orphans – may Hashem help ease their pain and bless them! Hamakom Yinachem Otchem Bitoch Shaar Evley Zion and Jerusalem. May Hashem comfort you among the mourners of Zion and Jerusalem. Chavat Gilad, was established in the name of Itamar’s resident and founding father – Gilad Zar HYD who was murdered in the same place as Rabbi Raziel HYD 16 years ago.
Mazal tov to Ofer and Yael Head on the marriage of their daughter Nogah to Dvir. Ofer and Yael are part of the first nucleus of pioneers that set up the community of Itamar back in 1984.
Itamar enjoyed the visit of Joseph Waks, his brother Avi, sister Yehudit nephew Kobi and Gedalya and Elisheva Blum from Eli.
We also enjoyed hosting Benyamin Erlbaum from Queens NY who is studying in yeshiva in Israel. Binyamin plans on moving to Israel and joining the IDF.
With the latest rain Itamar Shepherds were finally able to take their herds to pasture. We must all pray that it rains a lot more – we are in a terrible drought.
