Itamar News Updates July 3rd 2015
The last two weeks have seen a rise in violent terror attacks in the Shomron.
We held memorials for the terror victims Rachel Shabo and her three children Tzvi, Avishay and Neria HY”D who were murdered in their home fourteen years ago along with the head of the Itamar response team, Yosef Twito, HY”D. We have done many constructive things in their memory here as neighborhoods go up and we plow forward in our mission here.
This week we welcomed the visit of Jeffrey Schwartz who has been a devoted friend of Itamar since its inception and is an officer of the Friends of Itamar board of directors. He came to see the community from up-close in order to get an inside look at the important needs of the community. In addition, Jeff has come to Israel in order to participate in a special program for lawyers called “Shurat Hadin” where lawyers are trained to deal with the terrible antisemitism exhibited by BDS. Please watch this short clip of his testimony.
Special thanks to our dear friend Eric Liebman for his initiating a walkathon this week on behalf of Itamar- please see this link https://www.fitcause.com/missions/walking-to-zion?shr=AXyd2j5KfVK6nGDKMrbZzw
We are trying to help our farmers who have suffered severe losses in the snow storm. They are trying to rebuild their hothouses in order to get back to work after the sabbatical year. Those who are interested please earmark this on your support payment.
Itamar enjoyed the visit of two groups, one from Holland lead by our dear friend Henk Poot and one from Norway. Despite these countries policies against a Jewish presence in the heartland, there is also a nice turn out of people who come to show their support. We have also had the pleasure of hosting Finnish groups as well.
Summer is officially here and our special program is under way. Thank you for all of those who helped with this- BIG TIME!
Mazal tov to the Eizak, Koralak, and BeKarov families on the birth of sons this week. The Britot are scheduled for Shabbat, Sunday and Monday. May we only have such happy events.
Mazal tov to Alex and Michal Zuckerman on moving into their new home here on Itamar.
Watch Rabbi Goldsmith’s new Torah for the week.

Love you!!
